Fada dos Dentes
Fada dos Dentes
A grandmother in Lisbon lifts a child's pillow and whispers the old proverb — "Antes dentes que parentes" — better to lose teeth than relatives. The Fada dos Dentes is already on her way, slipping through tiled rooftops and laundry lines. She takes the milk tooth and leaves a coin that smells faintly of citrus and the sea.
