Directional Teeth
The Grandmother
Lao Lao places her grandson's upper tooth at the foot of the bed, where teeth must rest if they want their replacements to come in straight. The lower tooth she sends to the rooftop — high, where the new one will reach upward to meet it. There is a logic to this that even physicists do not fully understand, and Lao Lao learned it from her own grandmother.
