Hidden from the Birds
The Hidden Tooth
In a village above Kathmandu, a boy digs a small hole behind the prayer flags and buries his tooth deep — deep enough that no bird can find it. In Nepal, the birds are the enemy. They want what is yours. He pats down the dirt, whispers a wish, and trusts the mountain to keep his secret until the new tooth comes.
