The Sky
On a flat rooftop in Tehran, a girl holds her tooth toward the night sky and whispers the prayer her grandmother taught her — a prayer older than the Persian word for prayer. She throws. The tooth catches the moon for a half-second, then disappears. Somewhere above, something receives it. Somewhere below, a strong new tooth has already begun.
